Notes from The Cellar d'Or:
"La Valle Del Sole is located in the medieval village of Offida, situated between the Adriatic and the Sibillini and Laga mountain ranges; it belongs to the wider wine region of Piceno in SE Le Marche. The vineyards are at 300m of altitude; they've been farmed organically since 1989 by the sisters Alessia & Valeria Nicolo, who own and run this small winery with their father. Soils for the Passerina vineyards are medium-textured clay; the vineyard parcels range between 15 to 60 years old."
Italy has a wealth of native varieties, this Passerina is a hidden gem. Notes of lemon zest, green apple skin, white flowers and sea shells greet you from the glass. The palate is lively with a lean, juicy texture that leads towards a dry, refreshing finish with a touch of salinity. Dangerously easy to drink.
