Notes from the producer:
"King Estate has been making Pinot Noir from Hyland Vineyard in the foothills of the Coast Range since 2010. Planted in 1971, Hyland is one of Oregon’s oldest vineyards. It sits at 600 feet in elevation on a rolling hillside surrounded by fir trees. The vineyard features Pinot Noir grown on Jory soil, consistently providing fruit with wonderful dark cherry flavors. Single vineyard wines offer a snapshot of a wine's time and place.
Summer fruit of strawberry and raspberry is offset by more savory notes of truffle, earth and tobacco leaves. Light bodied up front, with round, supple tannins on the mid-palate, the wine is elegant and balanced with a rich and lingering finish."
