Guillaume Sergent is a meticulous micro-producer who began crafting site-specific Champagnes in 2011 after taking over a small 1.5-hectare portion of his family's historic estate in Vrigny. A trained oenologist and geologist, he employs "alternative" viticulture—including the use of a horse and organic practices—to emphasize the purity and biodiversity of his terroir. His winemaking philosophy focuses on precision and restraint, utilizing neutral oak fermentation and minimal dosage to let the natural character of the grapes lead the final profile.
The Bossa Nova cuvée specifically replaces his Le Chemin des Chappes label for certain vintages and is sourced from Premier Cru vineyards in the Petit Montagne de Reims, primarily within the village of Vrigny, where the vines thrive in a unique combination of limestone and sandy soils.
