The Grosjean winery is a family-run operation in the Aosta Valley, led by the sons of founder Dauphin Grosjean, who began commercial production in 1969. Sourcing from several "cru" vineyards in the mountainous region, they are highly regarded for their work with indigenous Alpine grape varieties. The Fumin used for the prestigious Vigne Merletta bottling comes from a dedicated, high-altitude vineyard in the village of Saint Christophe. This steep, terraced site is planted with old Fumin vines on granite and schist soils, which contribute the unique mountain character to the wine. The Grosjean family has also been practicing sustainable farming techniques since 1975 and is now certified organic.
