Gaston Chiquet recently celebrated the centennial anniversary of its founding in 1919. Located in the Grande Vallée, it’s one of the largest grower estates with over 57 acres of vines, mostly within the villages of Aÿ, Mareuil-Sur-Aÿ, Dizy and Hautvillers. The style here relies on sélection massale to naturally keep the yields low, and since their terroir naturally produce wines with plenty of body and character, all their wines are vinified in stainless steel.

'Tradition' is a blend of 40% Pinot Meunier, 35% Chardonnay, and 25% Pinot Noir. 80% of the fruit is coming from the 2019 harvest with the remainder filled in by 2018 and 2017. Grapes are sourced from Hautvillers 1er Cru, Dizy 1er Cru, Mareuil-sur-Aÿ 1er Cru and Aÿ Grand Cru.

One of the finest grower champagnes in the Vallée de la Marne, this is a proper introduction to the house style that emphasizes natural concentration, fruit maturity and malolactic fermentation without the assistance of barrel fermentation. This is a gorgeous, linear Champagne that maintains its crispness from beginning to end.
