Verduno plays an important role in Pelaverga Piccolo as it was once the epicenter for the region and credited with creating the first dry wines that we know today. Its unofficial slogan as “the king of wines, and the wine of kings” was born out of the preference for these Verduno wines among the reigning monarchies. The Alessandria’s have deep roots in the region dating back to this monarchic mid-19th century era.

Notes from Bowler Wines:

"100% Pelaverga Piccolo, a variety unique to Verduno!  Fruit from 2.6ha of vineyards, between 250-350m: Riva Rocca, Campasso, Boscatto, Neirane, Sotto Orti, Galleria.  Harvested in the second half of September. Stainless steel fermentation, on the skins for 6-8 days.  Aged between stainless and cement for 6 months.  Released in May 2022.  First made in 1973. 22,000 bottles produced."
