Eric Texier is a former nuclear engineer turned minimalist winemaker who has been instrumental in reviving "lost" Northern Rhône appellations, specifically Brézème and Saint-Julien-en-Saint-Alban. He manages approximately 12 hectares of certified organic vines, focusing on high-altitude, south-facing slopes with granite and limestone-rich soils that provide a cooler microclimate than much of the surrounding region. While the majority of his production comes from estate-owned or rented vines, he also maintains long-standing partnerships with like-minded growers to source organic fruit for specific cuvées.

His 'Chat Fou' 2024 is primarily sourced from granite-based sites in the Ouvèze valley of the Ardèche, blending estate fruit with carefully selected partner vineyards to maintain its signature fresh, "bistro-style" profile. A blend of 50% Cinsault, 30% Grenache, and 20% white grapes (predominantly Clairette).
