Located in the medieval village of Clisson within the Loire Valley, Domaine des Cognettes is a family-owned estate with a winemaking history spanning nine generations. Currently managed by brothers Stéphane and Vincent Perraud, who took over in 1990, the domaine spans roughly 30 hectares of diverse granite and volcanic soils. The brothers are dedicated stewards of the environment, having transitioned the entire vineyard to certified organic farming since 2010 to promote biodiversity and terroir expression. Their winemaking philosophy focuses on minimal intervention, utilizing native yeasts, hand-harvesting, and extended aging on the lees to produce structured, age-worthy Muscadet wines.
