About The Producer:
Brigitte Bile & Serge Depeyre have been at the helm of for over 15 years. They have combined their expertise to create wines that reflect their image: unique and charismatic, while understanding and respecting the land and the vine. The vineyard located in the Agly valley in the north of Roussillon is established on black schists and clay-limestone. It is swept by the gusts of the prevailing wind "La Tramontane". These complex factors bring power, balance and freshness, giving the wines of Domaine Depeyre their unique character.
Impressions:
If you know where to look, the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France has the ability to rival the famed villages of the Southern Rhône. Case in point is this lovely GSM blend that is perfect for backyard grilling season. Bright notes of bramble fruits, and violets are intertwined with earthier notes of forest floor, olives, bacon fat and green and black peppercorns. Deceptively full bodied, with a silky, concentrated texture that sways towards a velvety tannic touch. The finish is fruity, earthy, and peppery with a touch of smoke. Pairs beautifully with red meats, sausages and bbq.
