Domaine Cottenceau is an exciting, young estate located in the Côte Chalonnaise region of Burgundy, France. Established in 2021, the winery is run by Maxime Cottenceau, a talented young winemaker who trained under the legendary Vincent Dureuil-Janthial. Maxime farms his old vines organically, following the lunar calendar to respect the natural rhythm of the land. His meticulous, low-intervention approach in both the vineyard and the cellar results in beautifully precise, mineral-driven white wines that perfectly express the unique limestone soils of Montagny.
Montcuchot features thin, stony clay-limestone soils packed with ancient marine fossils. This distinct mix of elevation, southeast sun exposure, and fossil-rich ground gives the Chardonnay grapes exceptional ripeness and a powerful, salty minerality.
