Domaine Bessin-Tremblay is a benchmark, family-run estate based in La Chapelle-Vaupelteigne that was established in 1992 when former architect Jean-Claude Bessin took over his wife Evelyne’s ancestral family vineyards. Today, their sons Romain and Antoine manage the 12-hectare estate under a strict biodynamic philosophy, executing all harvesting by hand with native yeast fermentations. The winery's prized possessions are its meticulously farmed parcels of old vines planted in classic, fossil-rich Kimmeridgian limestone soils across Chablis, Premier Cru, and Grand Cru sites. Central to their prestigious lineup is a prized 2-hectare holding within the iconic Valmur Grand Cru vineyard, where vines dating back to the mid-20th century yield exceptionally dense, powerful, and mineral-driven Chardonnays.
