Notes from Berthet-Rayne:

"The estate is located on the left bank of the Rhône between Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Courthézon and Orange to the north, on the terroirs of Chapouin and Coudoulet. Our vineyard extends over clay-limestone soils of the alpine diluvium with a high proportion of rolled pebbles which make the reputation of our wine."

Domaine Berthet-Rayne Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a beautifully balanced, organically grown expression that captures the classic power of the Southern Rhône with immense freshness. Rooted in the appellation's traditional galets roulés (large quartz stones) and limestone soils, this vintage centers on a core of old-vine Grenache, expertly structured with Mourvèdre, Cinsault, and Syrah. The estate's commitment to low-intervention, Ecocert-certified organic farming shines through in the wine's purity. By focusing on gentle extraction and utilizing mostly unoaked aging vessels, Berthet-Rayne avoids the heavy, jammy traps of warmer vintages, offering your clients a remarkably chiseled and terroir-driven Châteauneuf.

The wine opens with a powerful and complex bouquet of ripe kirsch, sour cherries, blackcurrants, and licorice, seamlessly woven together with crushed gravel minerality and the savory perfume of wild garrigue. On the palate, it delivers a medium-to-full-bodied presence with a core of succulent fruit wrapped in refined, powdery tannins. A vibrant vein of acidity lifts the warm baking spice notes on a long, harmonious finish. Exceptionally forward and rewarding upon release after a brief decant, it possesses the underlying structure to cellar gracefully over the next decade.

65% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre, 10% Cinsault, 5% Syrah.
