Jim Prosser started the J.K. Carriere wines in 1999 in an old barn in Newburg. The name for the winery is the combined names of his grandfathers. Pretty quickly people caught on to what he was doing. In 2007 headquarters moved to their estate and soon to planted vineyard and soon to be built winery. Now, years later, the winery is built and beautiful, and the home estate vineyard, St Dolores, (named for his Mom) is thriving on top of Parrett Mountain. Jim’s wines are ones he believes in, and are serious and structured. While tasty out of the gate, they age beautifully and are at their best given the opportunity to do just that.
