Notes from the producer:
"At the heart of the great Sauternes terroirs, the Lafaurie-Peyraguey vineyard is located on the high gravel terrace of Sauternes, 70 m above sea level, next to Château d'Yquem. Recognized as Premier Grand Cru Classé of Sauternes during the 1855 classification.
The plots of “L'Enclos” and “Maisons Rouges” represent the historic heart of the great terroir of Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey, composed of quaternary gravel deposited more than 600,000 years ago, on a substrate of Aquitaine limestone."
