Notes from Entity Wines:
"Chateau Fleur d’Eymerits was acquired by Vincent Lagrave in 2013 and comprises of a tiny 1ha plot set in the heart of Lalande de Pomerol. This is the sort of wine I love to love as it is made, in miniscule quantities, from a very talented one man band. On average Vincent makes around 7000 bottles a year from Merlot vines which average 50 years old. The resulting fruit is top notch, and this is very much like a baby Pomerol, at a fraction of the price! There are no airs & graces here. Just pure passion, skill, and a labor of love. One to get behind, before everyone else does, with such small quantities available. Also, Vincent decided against making a 2021, as he didn’t feel it was up to scratch. That’s a pretty bold move for a small producer, and testament to how much he cares about releasing only the very best wines.
Packed full of ripe, rich black fruit, cream, spice and cedar (from 14 months French oak ageing). Hint of tobacco and a distinct, refreshing eucalyptus note running throughout. The fine grained tannins and juicy acidity are in balance with the fruit and this is already drinking wonderfully."
