Champagne Bollinger Special Cuvée is the iconic flagship non-vintage Champagne from one of Champagne’s most revered independent houses — a bold, elegant expression of depth and subtlety that embodies Bollinger’s legendary style. Named “Special Cuvée” over a century ago by the House’s British agent to reflect its refined character, this cuvée has become synonymous with Bollinger’s commitment to craftsmanship and consistency.

Blended from over 85% Grand and Premier cru vineyards, Special Cuvée combines 60% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay and 15% Meunier, creating a rich, structured profile with remarkable complexity. A significant proportion of reserve wines — some aged for 7–15 years — adds layers of depth, richness, and aromatic richness to the final cuvée.

In the glass, it displays a golden hue and exceptionally fine, persistent bubbles. On the nose, expect a complex bouquet of ripe fruit, subtle spice, roasted apples, brioche, and peach nuances that evolve with every swirl. The palate reveals a harmonious combination of structure, length and vivacity, with velvety bubbles carrying flavors of pear, brioche, hints of fresh walnut and delicate spice through a lingering finish.

With a moderate dosage (7–8 g/L) and extended cellar aging far beyond regulations, Special Cuvée delivers refined balance and richness that appeals to both Champagne enthusiasts and newcomers alike. It’s perfect for celebrations, fine dining, or meaningful moments with loved ones, and pairs beautifully with seafood, poultry, creamy cheeses and gourmet dishes.

Champagne Bollinger Special Cuvée is more than a classic — it is an invitation to indulge in centuries of tradition, complexity and unforgettable taste.

Winemaking
The wine is a non-vintage blend dominated by Pinot Noir (about 60%), which gives structure and depth, supported by Chardonnay (around 25%) for freshness and Meunier (around 15%) for roundness. Grapes come mainly from Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards across Champagne. A key feature of Special Cuvée is the high proportion of reserve wines, some aged for 7 to 15 years, which add complexity, maturity, and Bollinger’s signature richness. Each grape variety and parcel is vinified separately, primarily in small stainless-steel tanks to preserve purity and precision. Bollinger is also known for fermenting part of its reserve wines in oak barrels, which contributes subtle spice, texture, and depth without overt wood character.
