The Camponovo Brunello di Montalcino is produced by Alessandro Rossi. Prior to 2011, Rossi sold his grapes to the Fattoria La Gerla estate, which was owned by his father. Since then, he has produced wine under his own label, selecting the best grapes to make the Camponovo Brunello. The primary distinction is that La Gerla Brunello is the broader, traditional expression of the winery's estate fruit, while Alessandro Rossi's Camponovo is a smaller production, more selective bottling. Both wines are produced from vineyards owned by the Rossi family, but they reflect different winemaking philosophies and selection processes.
