Founded in 2016 by Camille Thiriet and Matt Chittick, Domaine Camille Thiriet is a rising star in Burgundy that began as a "garage" project with no electricity or running water. Based in Comblanchien, the estate has grown to roughly six hectares of vines, emphasizing organic farming and meticulous, hands-on production including horse-plowing and manual labeling. Camille, who was originally drawn to perfumery, brings an intuitive and sensory-focused approach to her winemaking, utilizing native yeasts and minimal sulfur to produce wines known for their purity and aromatic complexity. The domaine has quickly gained a cult following for elevating overlooked terroirs in the southern Côte de Nuits to a level of quality often compared to more prestigious Premier Cru sites.
Jasper Morris:
"90-year-old vines delivered small and tasty berries. 50% whole bunch vinification. Mid crimson colour, the nose not yet fully developed yet. Much more sensuality on the palate. Cherry and some raspberry, not completely noble behind, yet with length and class. Crystalline finish."
