Located in Montallegro near the Torre Salsa Nature Reserve, Azienda Agricola Calogero Caruana is a small-scale artisanal estate dedicated to natural winemaking just two kilometers from the Sicilian coast. After training in Tuscany with Stefano Amerighi, Caruana returned home to farm five hectares of indigenous grapes like Inzolia and Nero d’Avola using organic and biodynamic principles. His cellar work focuses on minimal intervention, utilizing spontaneous fermentation and ancient techniques like flor maturation to capture the salty, sun-drenched character of his Mediterranean terroir.
