Sourced from the lieu-dit La Rippaille in Brézé, southwest-facing, mostly sandy-clay soil.

American expatriate Brendan Stater-West founded his eponymous Saumur winery after a profound "aha" moment with a bottle of Loire Chenin Blanc. He moved from Oregon and honed his craft by tirelessly apprenticing under renowned winemaker Romain Guiberteau. Working organically with prime limestone-rich plots, Stater-West is celebrated for creating elegant, minimalist wines that are pure expressions of their terroir. In 2024, he co-founded the négociant project Chai de la Dive to focus on earlier-drinking bottlings while dedicating his domain to age-worthy, site-specific wines.
