Sergio's Pick
Despite the winery being just over 12 years old, Boffalora is well on its way to becoming a benchmark producer in the Valtellina. Winemaker Giuseppe Guglielmo is the one man show at this estate. Given the steeply terraced vineyards at altitudes reaching 2000 feet above sea level, this is truly a labor of love. Working almost exclusively with Nebbiolo vines, referred to locally as Chiavennasca, Boffalora captures its mountainous surroundings in every bottle.
About the cuvee:
Pietrisco is a selection of Boffalora's oldest vines. Like all of Giuseppe's wines, it is fermented by native yeast, and spends 12 months aging in large format neutral oak.
