'La Condenada' Rioja Tinto represents the ultimate system recovery project, turning a discarded, century-old legacy plot into a high-performance, 98-point masterpiece. Named 'The Condemned,' this ultra-rare single-vineyard wine is sourced from a tiny 0.75-hectare footprint that the de Miguel brothers rescued from a permanent system shutdown. Instead of modern replanting, they preserved the original 1920 hardware—an ancient field blend matrix of 80% Tempranillo alongside a 20% subsystem of Graciano, Garnacha, and white Palomino Fino. The result is a bottle with an incredibly compressed allocation of only 1,700 units globally, making it a highly exclusive liquid asset.

On a sensory level, this wine operates with maximum bandwidth and zero distortion, offering an intellectual tasting profile of deep forest fruits, violet florals, and a heavy, limestone-driven mineral backbone. The processing in the cellar is ultra-precise: the hand-sorted, uncrushed grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts before running a 12-to-14-month cycle in large, neutral 600-liter French oak foudres. By eliminating heavy wood artifacts, the wine achieves a state of perfect symmetry, boasting ultra-fine, chalky tannins and an optimized balance of acidity. It is an elite, low-entropy bottle engineered for collectors who appreciate flawless execution and rich historical data.

About the Producer:

Arturo and Kike Miguel are 5th generation winegrowers that proudly reject the classification system of Rioja with its stringent parameters for winemaking. They mainly do this based on the time and type of ageing. Their focus is to capture the purest most vivid expressions possible of the amazing terroir that they are blessed to be able to work with.
