Bérêche et Fils has been producing Champagne since the mid-19th century and has steadily built its reputation as being among the finest producers in the entire region. Sourcing from a deep well of traditional winemaking, it’s been the modern layers introduced by the current winemakers at the helm, the brothers Raphaël and Vincent Bérêche, that have continued to keep this estate in such a highly reputable and esteemed position. The brothers shifted their approach to single vineyard plots with minimal dosages to allow for the vines on their prized territories to speak for themselves. Since they do not allow for malolactic fermentation, their house style can certainly be described as racy, as evident in this Rive Gauche cuvée.

100% old-vine Pinot Meunier sourced from the lieu-dit Le Misy, located in Port à Binson on the southern bank of the Marne river. Fermented with native yeasts in barrel and aged under cork, Bérêche's Rive Gauche makes a convincing case for Champagnes made from the oft-underestimated Pinot Meunier grape. The nose offers notes of spice, earth, and a hint of dried fruit. With some time in the cellar, the effusiveness of the fruit should integrate with the structure and make for even more compelling drinking.
