Notes from Becky Wasserman & Co.:
"Since 1990, Benoit Moreau worked with his father and brother at the family domaine in Chassagne-Montrachet, Domaine Bernard Moreau & Fils. After several years as the vineyard manager, he decided to create his own domaine, combining his share of the family vineyards with some new acquisitions in the Beaujolais."

"
2022, Chassagne-Montrachet La Cardeuse 1er Cru, Benoît Moreau
93-95
A glowing fresh ruby purple. Benoît is happy to extract a little more here but the key for him ws nonetheless to pick on the right day and retain a lightness of touch. He chose to use 50% whole bunch vinification, which one can pick up with the crushed strawberries on the nose. Lifted raspberries too, this has exquisite fruit through the middle of the palate, and though the tannins from this end of Morgeot cannot help but put in an appearance, they are really well managed. A fine touch to finish a super elegant red Chassagne. Delicious finish, bravo!. "
