Founded in 1998 by winemaker Rosalía Molina and her husband Manolo Garrote, Bodegas Altolandon is a family-run estate located in Landete, Cuenca, within the DO Manchuela region. Situated at a remarkable elevation of 1,100 meters, it is one of Spain’s highest-altitude wineries, a factor that allows for late ripening and the production of wines with exceptional freshness and natural acidity. The estate spans 200 hectares of certified organic and vegan-friendly vineyards where indigenous varieties like Bobal and Garnacha thrive alongside international grapes like Malbec and Cabernet Franc. Their winemaking philosophy focuses on minimal intervention, utilizing native yeasts, spontaneous fermentation, and aging in clay amphorae or French oak to purely express the unique high-altitude terroir.
