Founded in 1997 by viticulturist Makis Mavridis and oenologist Angelos Iatridis, Alpha Estate is a pioneering, high-tech winery located in the heart of the Amyndeon plateau in northwestern Greece. The estate manages a large, privately owned vineyard covering approximately 220 hectares, where it emphasizes sustainable viticulture and the use of gravity-flow winemaking to preserve the integrity of the fruit.

This specific 'Turtles Vineyard' bottling is sourced from a single 36-hectare sub-region situated at an altitude of 620–710 meters, characterized by sandy-clay soils over limestone and named for the local turtle species that nest in the area.
