Notes on the estate from grand cru selections:
"The domaine was founded in 1890 by Simon Bize who embarked on viticulture with a few hectares of vines in the middle of the phylloxera crisis. The estate was then passed to his son in 1918 (another Simon) who increased their holdings and then to his son (also, Simon) in 1950, who built up a portfolio of customers. But it was his son, Patrick Bize, who from 1972 took the quality of the wines to the top. f the palate. Another 2010 that is starting to drink very well."
Tasting Notes from Jasper Morris:
"Ageing gracefully, this is an elegant Savigny from Patrick Bize that is approaching full maturity. Still with a good colour, the nose is a little shy at first. The fruit acid balance is perfect and the wine is coming out to play very nicely, with the fruit loaded more towards the back of the palate. Another 2010 that is starting to drink very well. Tasted Oct 2019."
