Notes From Weingut Knoll:
"Hardly any other winery has shaped the perception of the Wachau as a high-quality wine-growing region as much as that of the Knoll family. Viticulture has been practiced for generations, the first bottles were filled in the 1950s, Austria's most famous label, the baroque motif of St. Urban, was first stuck onto a bottle of Knoll wine in 1962.
Today the family farms 16 hectares, including vineyards that have long since become common property in the minds of local and international wine drinkers: Kellerberg, Loibenberg, Pfaffenberg and above all the Schütt form the basis for Rieslings and Veltliners, which are fundamentally clear, precise, mineral and structured and often only fully reveal their potential years and decades later."
Cuvee/vintage notes from Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate:
"Knoll's 2022 Loibner Ried Trum Grüner Veltliner Federspiel has a clear, defined and finely spiced nose with earthy and aromatic fruit aromas. Juicy, savory and very long on the palate, with dense fruit and a complex finish, this is a spectacular Federspiel (which is not really a Federspiel in terms of weight) from the Trum vineyard. It's long lasting and menu-worthy. Tasted at Schloss Dürnstein, Wachau, in September 2023. 94+ points."
