Les Cigales dans la Fourmilière is a collaborative natural wine estate in Montpeyroux, Languedoc, founded by winemakers Julie Brosselin and Ivo Ferreira. They source their fruit from small, organically and biodynamically farmed vineyard plots featuring diverse soils of clay, limestone, and ancient stony terraces. For their celebrated orange wine, "La Polonaise," they utilize primarily Muscat à Petits Grains and Terret Bourret that undergo a skin-maceration period lasting approximately two weeks. This precise contact time coaxes out a deep amber color, intense herbal and floral aromas, and a slightly structured tannic grip. The final juice is bottled unfined, unfiltered, and entirely without added sulfur to purely mirror its Mediterranean origin.
