“We knew we could expect great things from such a fantastically unique geological site, says Doug Irvine. Irvine & Roberts Vineyards lie at the convergence point between the Cascade Mountains and the remnants of the ancient Siskiyou Mountain Range that formed 30 million years ago when the Pacific Plate collided with the North American plate.

Over time, the great plates slipped sideways and split the mountains into large upturned blocks, which became the water-carved canyons and rolling hills of today’s Rogue Valley. Rich in nutrients and excellent for drainage, the vineyard’s sedimentary soils created an extraordinary terroir for growing premium grapes.

Irvine & Roberts Vineyards sits at 2,100 feet in elevation on an east facing slope. Our vines are densely spaced at 4ft by 7ft with 1,556 vines per acre. The vineyard experiences cool winters, with a handful of days with snow and an average annual rainfall of 20 inches. The springtime is mild, and warm summer days with diurnal temperature swings of 40 degrees during the growing season are not uncommon. Cool afternoon mountain breezes that help firm up the grape skins and keep the vines healthy and free of common vineyard pressures. The vineyard is certified sustainable by Salmon Safe and LIVE.

This vintage awakens the senses with fresh pomegranate and hints of toasted marshmallow, this wine is smooth and precise gaining tannic breadth as it coasts effortlessly from start to finish. While fruit-driven, it balances bright tropical undertones with the dark notes of molasses that leaves a lasting impression.
