Agathe Bursin produced her first vintage in 2000, and within a few years had developed such a strong following that her wines became difficult to find. Though she founded her own winery, she has deep winemaking roots in Alsace, with her great-grandfather the last to produce wines under the family name before his death in 1939. She was nonetheless raised in a wine-centric household, being encouraged to smell and taste food and wines criticall from a young age.

Her 'Lutzeltal' Gewurztraminer is an incredibly expressive and beautifully balanced white wine. Sourced from the sun-drenched, well-draining limestone and yellow sandstone slopes of the Lutzeltal lieu-dit—neighboring the renowned Grand Cru Vorbourg—the vines here yield small, highly concentrated grape clusters. This vintage captures a classic, exotic aromatic profile bursting with intense notes of lychee, ripe tropical fruits, rose petals, and warm baking spices. On the palate, its rich, subtly unctuous, off-dry body (vin moelleux) is matched flawlessly by a vibrant, lively acidity that cuts cleanly through the sweetness, extending into a remarkably long, clean, and elegant finish.

Sporting a versatile 13.5%–14% ABV, it makes a stunning shelf addition that pairs exquisitely with spicy Asian cuisine, rich duck or goose dishes, strong cheeses, or surprisingly, a classic acidic-sweet pairing like wood-fired pizza.
