This is a classic example of white Burgundy from one of the most underrated estates, and appellations for that matter. White flowers and citrus dominate the aromas with a discreet hint of seashells. The succulent and round flavors are plump and fleshy with enough vibrancy to create tension before descending on a clean and dry finish.
Sylvain and Nathalie own plots in Meursault, Puligny, Chassagne and Saint-Aubin. The family’s vines are planted to 75% Chardonnay, 15% Pinot Noir and 10% Aligoté. Everything here is done by hand and with great care. Vines are pruned to a maximum of five shoots for naturally low yields. The winery is essentially a garage and a cellar packed with barrels of fermenting and aging wines. Sylvain vinifies his wines with ambient yeast and only small percentages of new oak. The finished wines are elegant gems produced in very limited quantities.
