"We fully acknowledge the polarizing effect that skin contact/orange wine evokes. However, we are also conscious of when one comes our way that transcends the style and we become beyond excited to share with you all. This is one of those wines. Intense aromas of ripe tangerines, blood orange marmalade, wildflowers and grapefruit pith scream from the glass. The palate displays Friulano's complex minerality showing textures that go from round and silky to oily and mouthwatering. The finish is extremely long, crisp and citrusy with subtle notes of brioche, white flowers and orange blossoms on the finish. With extended maceration time, 11 months on the lees plus an additional year aging in barrel, this is an intensely finessed and clean style of orange wine making that polishes away funky notes of sour beer, black tea and candle wax that are often associated with skin contact/orange wines. Even better, you don't have to wait for this gem to open up, no decanting necessary " - Sergio

About The Producer:
Stefano Novello is another one of those winemakers who truly believe they are not here to own the land, but rather to protect it and accompany the grapes in their journey from the vineyard to the bottle. He also believes in biodynamic agriculture, hand-picking at harvest and always bottling under a waning moon. His winery, Ronco Severo, inherited from his father Severo Novello back in 1998, is located in the Italian paradise of the white wines: Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Stefano’s production is four white wines and three red ones, all but one are single varietal bottlings with each cuvée showcasing the grape's full potential.
