Now entering their 2nd decade of wine production, Roc des Anges is operated by Marjorie and Stéphane Gallet. Their vineyards are located in Montner, a small village of north Catalogne, nestled against the north hillside of the Forca Real mountain in Roussillon. This is a biodynamic estate that craft site-specific wines sourced from single growing plots with the intent to showcase the unique soil composition of their region. These are more liked bottled expressions, and their mineral-forward approach is truly breathtaking. 'L'Oca' is a rare monovarietal bottling of 70 year old Macabeu vines. Delicate aromas of honeydew melon, bruised pear, gardenias and wet stones lead the way to a show-stopping, enveloping mineral-rich yet featherweight texture that eases into a crisp, stony, and gentle finish with hints of salinity. 'L'Oca' accomplishes what many white Rhône blends aspire to achieve, and does so with a single varietal.
