David Croix quickly made a name for himself as the winemaker for the venerable negociant, Camille Giroud, a position he held from 2002 to 2016. He started at Camille Giroud fresh out of oenology school, at the age of 24, and because of the range of terroirs vinified at Camille Giroud received a one-of-a-kind education on Beaune vineyards.
From Jasper Morris:
24% whole bunch. Heady rich deep purple, there is a lot of fruit here and it was picked in good time. This is concentrated pinot, perhaps raspberry dominant, with a freshness at the finish that cuts through the exceptional concentration. This is long, structured and fine. I really did not spot the 14.8% alcohol, perhaps because of the acidity with an unusually low pH of 3.35 to make a wine which is both ripe and fresh together.
