North Berkeley Imports:
Domaine Arlaud is a reference point for natural Burgundy wines. Preserving the health and character of their vineyards is of utmost importance to this generations-deep biodynamic winemaking clan. Today the Arlauds stand side-by-side with Burgundy’s most respected names. The estate holds both organic and biodynamic certifications, the very first to do so in Morey-Saint-Denis.
An ancient, rocky site, facing east, that is home to the ruins of a Gallo-Roman villa; located on the northern border of Morey with Gevrey Chambertin, and touching grand cru Charmes-Chambertin. Soils here are deep, stony, rich in chalk.

From a site with shallow, calcium-rich soils, the 2021 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Aux Cheseaux is another pure, filigreed wine, exhibiting aromas of red berries, plums, raw cocoa and petals. Medium-bodied, delicate and mineral, with melting, powdery tannins and a perfumed finish, it privileges finesse over power.
