Pietradolce was established in 2005 by Michele Faro and was founded in Solicchiata, an area within the district of the town of Castiglione di Sicilia, on the Northern slopes of Etna.

The Pietradolce philosophy, “At the heart of our philosophy is a love for our land which is equaled by the respect with which we treat it. We look to the rich local traditions for all that is best in them and then combine these with a wise use of modern viticultural techniques to give life to our passion: the wines of Etna.”

This is a single vineyard Nerello Mascalese near the town of Castiglione di Sicilia. At over 2600 feet elevation, this is a lean and Burgundy-like example. Bright red fruits adorn the aromatic profily, silky texture and a smoky slighlty herbal finish makes this highly approchable, fresh and mineral driven take on Nerello.
