While Petit Arvine (aka Arvine) is one of the most important varietals in the Valais region of Switzerland, it has found a nice second home away from its native homeland in the mountainous Vallée d’Aoste region of Italy. Ottin produces one of the finest examples of this Swiss varietal on Italian soil. Complex, fruit driven aromas of bosc pears, honeydew melon, grapefruit pith, guava skin, mint, and gardenias leap from the glass. The acidity stands out with its signature alpine freshness that carries a mineral-rich full body that finishes crisp with pithy, piney, fruity, and floral notes. With this vintage, Ottin captures Petit Arvine’s alpine spirit marvelously.
