The Müller Catoir Estate has been family owned since 1774. The winery is currently run by Phillipp David Catoir (9th generation) and his right-hand man Martin Franzen. Martin joined Phillipp in 2002, originally from the Mosel and brings his experience as head of operations at Schlossgut Diel in the Nahe and at Gut Nagelsforst in Baden. In 2012 the estate started their organic conversion and completed their first certification in 2015. Martin says since certification the wines have “a deeper saltiness, a more mineral element, and more complexity.”
Vintage notes: Aromas of lychee, elderflower, green grass and jasmine dance with hints of green apple and nutmeg. The palate is met with dynamic acidity providing an elegant and refined lift advancing to a delightfully crisp and dry finish. A perfect aperitif wine; alternatively enjoy with a cheese plate or spicy dish of your choosing.
