Featured Red: 2 Shades Red Wine Club April
This is a textbook example of a Provençal red with an average vine age of 30 years; all fruit is de-stemmed. Polished, yet rustic notes of dark plums, black raspberry, teriyaki, leather, underbrush and garrigue evolve from the glass. The energized acidity pushes a bold and meaty juicy/velvety texture towards a firm, cedar-like tannic grip. The earthy finish is long with elegant ending notes of pipe tobacco and wild herbs. Structured for long term cellaring, and a perfect accompaniment to red meats. 30-45 minute decanting recommended.
La Bastide Blanche was founded in 1970 and came to prominence when they were named among the best wines produced from Provence’s historic 1993 vintage. They have been certified organic since 2002 and continue to enjoy their status as a benchmark Bandol producer.
