Jo Landron is a man who is reticent to accept praise for his expressive Muscadets, he credits the diversity of the domaine’s terroirs, situated on the upper slopes of the Sèvre River near Nantes. Since 1990, after taking the reins from his father, Jo has expanded the family holdings from 26 to 50 hectares of vineyards. The vineyards were certified organic in 2002 and biodynamic in 2011. The Muscadets became not only an expression of grape and soil, but a deeper reflection of the place where they are grown.
Wine: 30-42 year-old vines. Slightly warmer terroir. Somewhat foggy site along the Sevre River, especially during harvest. Finesse and focus make Fief du Breil the true "gentelman" of the Landron lineup. Grown on a terroir with a strong personality, Fief du Breui reveals citrussy pineapple aromas combined with a smokiness from the bedrock. With 8 years at its back it still has years ahead.
