Impressions: As you may have noticed we really love Frappato, and frankly what’s not to love? Aromas lead with fresh blackberry, raspberry, and blueberry lingering above aromatic floral tones. The lively acidity introduces an ultra-lean body that twirls with delicate tannins leading to an earthy finish with notes of white pepper. Due to the lean nature of this vintage, it can be happily drunk on its own, we recommend a slight chill. Pair with sun dried tomato pasta or peperonata.
About The Producer: Giovanni Gurrieri is a third-generation winemaker from Vittoria. His grandfather purchased 18 hectares of vines in dreams of opening up a winery. He produced amazing cuvees from the fruit but was only able to produce for friends and family. Living out his grandfather’s dream Giovanni officially started the winery in 1997. The estate produces Frappato and Nero d’Avola as well as table grapes. All fruit is hand harvested, with little oak use and the final juice sees no intervention.
