Domaine Vindiou is a joint venture undertaken by two long time friends, Thomas and Cyprien, who met while studying winemaking in Bordeaux. With a shared vision for making minimal intervention wines from grapes tended in small plots, they began their journey making wine in Thomas's grandparents barn in the Northern Rhone.
"Rancure" is a single vineyard cuvee made from a small plot of 49 year old vines in Saint-Joseph. The grapes were fermented 100% whole cluster, crushed by foot, and pressed by hand after a two-week fermentation. Following a native yeast fermentation, the wine was aged in a mixture of neutral barriques and stainless steel vats for two years.
