Domaine Desvignes has been producing their wines without the use of added SO2 since 2019. Though this may qualify them as a natural wine producer by many definitions, their wines are consistent and precise, owing to their scrupulously clean cellar practices. Their 2021 "La Grande Berge" was made from entirely destemmed Pinot Noir, in order to highlight the pure fruit qualities that this sunny, eastern-facing site in southern Givry produces. It was aged for 12 months in a mixture of two and three year old barrels, further showcasing the quality of the fruit in this cuvee. An additional six months of aging after blending allows it to harmonize prior to release.
