The Ascheri family has been notable in the Piemonte region for well over a century. The vineyards and cellars were established in 1880. Now run by Matteo and his son Giuseppe the estate and are notable Barolo producers with vineyards in Serralunga, La Mora, and Roero. Not only do they produce prolific Barolo, but focus on an array of native monovarietals from the Piemonte region. With extreme attention to detail from the vine to cellar, each vintage is a beautiful representation of Piemontese wine. The Arneis has “Cristina Ascheri” printed proudly on the label. This is Matteo’s mother’s name and he wanted it on his mother’s favorite varietal as he explained family is most important.

Vintage notes: A stupendous winter white to get cozy by the fire with or to enjoy with your favorite meal. Notes of spiced pear, yellow apple, and stone fruit, hover over white floral notes. Medium acidity plays perfectly with the juicy creamy texture that’s unfolds to a medium body finish with lasting herbal notes. This vintage would be happy to be drank on its own but would love a poultry dish or a carbonara.
