Impressions: Bright notes of tangerine, white nectarine, and honeydew evolve over herbaceous notes of thyme. The palate is lively with a thriving acidity that finishes with a crisp, fruity and slightly briny finish. Ideal for an aperitif for fish courses.
About the Producer: The estate was founded in 1979 by Aldo Magnabosco, current winemaker Gino Magnabosco’s father. Only a 90-minute drive from Venice, the family owns two properties, one in Soave, and one in Valpolicella, bridging the gap between the subalpine hills region and sea level regions that compose each. The estates Garganega site starts at 110-150 meters which is particularly high for the region and creeps all the way up to an astounding 250-380 meters for their cru whites. Gino’s wife Marta is an assistant winemaker and all-around hospitality specialist; it’s hard to visit Monte Tondo without getting swept up in her charm and welcoming energy.
