Pierrre Larmandier and his wife Sophie have been at the helm of this estate, since the late 80’s and have been meeting the challenges of farming biodynamic Champagne for over 20 years. ‘Terre de Vertus’ is comprised of Premier Cru sites on the northern end of Vertus, whose plots have very little topsoil, and the chalk is close to the surface. Complex aromas of bruised apple, bosc pear, toasted almonds, lemon oil and dried jasmine harmoniously interact. Medium bodied with compact and finessed bubbles over an elegant vinous texture that carries through its crisp, nearly bone-dry, chalky finish that leaves touches of almonds and saline. These vines produce a charged acidity that carries through to its vivacious mineral core. Stellar and composed.
