About The Producer: Winemaker Geoge Skouras began the Domaine in 1986 after completing schooling in Dijon. He wanted to return back to his hometown of Argos and began his winemaking journey in his ancestral lands. George works with native and non-native varietals. Quite possibly his most notable cuvee is his ‘Megas Oenos’ which is a blend of Agiorgitiko and Cabernet Sauvignon which has tremendous aging availability and is collected on a global level.

Impressions: This cuvee gets its name ‘Peplo’ due to the skin of the Mavrofilero being contained in a piece of fabric within the amphora to allow better control during the extraction process. Aromas of fresh strawberries, lemon peel, grapefruit, and chalk dance alongside floral tones of violet and dried roses before finishing with cool herbaceous notes of dried marjoram. The palate is met with balanced acidity that plays with a mineral focused-savory element transforming into a crisp and dry finish. Pair with your favorite crudo or fresh fish pasta of your choosing, alternatively enjoy alone as an aperitif.

Winemaking
Each variety contributes with 1/3 to the wine. The Syrah ages on its fine lees in stainless steel tanks, the Agiorgitiko in Acacia barrels and the Mavrofilero in egg shaped amphoras with skin contact for 4 months.
