"Family property for four generations, our area of about thirty hectares is located around the village of Chezelet in the town of Cravant les Coteaux.

Aimé, my great-grandfather and first owner, owned three hectares of vines in the places called “Les Poileries” and La Queue de Poêlon”. At the time the estate was in polyculture. His son Hubert took over the farm in 1935 and developed wine production during the Second World War. (Red wine was a food substitute used in times of food shortage). The vineyard reached a total area of 17 hectares at the end of the 1950s.

Jacky Gasnier, my father, will take over the operation in 1966. Immediately, he will focus on wine production and lead the estate in monoculture! For more than 10 years, he restructured the vineyard and transformed what remained of plots of table wine into AOC (Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée).

From an early age, I knew that one day I would embrace the profession of winegrower. After studying agriculture in the region and several experiences in Entre deux Mers, Champagne and Burgundy. I arrived on the estate to help my father. That day, I remember perfectly, at the time I was 21, it was September 26, 1990, the first day of the harvest, the start of a great adventure...

Since the 2000s, my wife Sandrine joined me in this adventure. Since then we have pushed further, and we also work in biodynamic agriculture. We have obtained Ecocert certifications, in Bio and Demeter for biodynamics, since the 2008 harvest. Date on which we switched to organic farming on the entire estate."

Additional tasting notes from Princeton Corkscrew Wineshop:

"Light gold color with aromas of wet rocks, honeycomb, lannolin, Yellow Delicious apple and baked orange. The palate is richly textured with a vibrant, saline minerality and crackling acidity that perfectly frame flavors of toasted hazelnuts, salted grapefruit, citrus zest and white peach. The finish swells into a crescendo, perfuming the palate with complexity and depth."
