Impressions: Finding delicious Bordeaux that is ready to drink now can sometimes be challenging, this cuvee from Vignobles Lassagne is drinking beautifully right out the gate.
Aromas of black cherry, plum, and black currant rest gracefully above faint notes of licorice and anise. Plush tannins greet the palette that mingle with dark fruit that develops into slightly spicy finish with tones of graphite. Pair with burger, steak, or grilled vegetable of your choosing.
About The Producer: Vignobles Lassagne is a collection of family properties collected over three generations located in the sought after unique of the Libounre area. Chateau des Landes was the first vineyard the collective acquired in Lussac Saint Emillion in 1952 by Paul Lassagne and utilized the fruit to make wine after his job at a tile factory at night. He gave his land to the next generation and by 2000, his 5ha property was now over 24ha. The winery to this day is still family run and the current winemakers are the third generation and plan to pass the winery to their children. Their philosophy is that “a great wine comes from permanent monitoring and constant questioning. Nothing can be left aside as perfection resides in a moment-to-moment effort.”
